Revaluation

City of Paterson

Project Status (as of February 12, 2018)
At this point the reassessment of all property in the City of Paterson has been completed in accordance with the rules and regulations mandated by the State of New Jersey requiring all real property be appraised at its fair market value.

If you disagree with the assessed value of your property, your next step would be to file a tax appeal with the Passaic County Board of Taxation. You can request an appeal package by calling (973) 720-7399.

Please note that appeals must be received (not merely postmarked) on or before May 1, 2018. At the time of your appeal you should be prepared to demonstrate any evidence supporting your opinion of fair market value, such as recent sales of similar properties in your area.
