Revaluation

Township of Weehawken

Project Status (as of March 6, 2018)
The revaluation of Weehawken has been completed in accordance with the rules and regulations mandated by the State of New Jersey requiring all real property be appraised at its fair market value. We have made a complete analysis of all recent market data in order to accomplish this task and to determine the value of all properties as of October 1, 2017.

It is our opinion that this 2018 assessed value is reflective of the fair market value of your property as of October 1, 2017 (the statutory assessment date for the 2018 tax year). Please do not apply the 2017 tax rate to this new assessed value. Since the aggregate value of the assessments in Weehawken has increased for use in the 2018 tax year resulting from the revaluation, the tax rate will be adjusted accordingly.

Any property owner who wishes to dispute the 2018 assessed value may file an appeal with the Hudson County Board of Taxation. You can request an appeal package by calling (201) 395-6260 or by visiting the forms page of their website:

Please note that appeals must be received (not merely postmarked) on or before May 1, 2018. At the time of your appeal you should be prepared to demonstrate any evidence supporting your opinion of fair market value, such as recent sales of similar properties in your area.
